Dear Pastor and Congregation.

YOU are invited to help with a Banquet for the homeless to be shared in Columbia Plaza, outside Union Station, Wednesday, January 18, 1989, from 5:00 till 8:00 p.m.

The Banquet will include candlelight and music, theater, and signs which ask President Bush to address problems vital to all humanity.

Chili and chips and hot apple cider are the basic menu to date, provided by several area churches, co-ops, and the Counter-Inaugural Coalition for a People's Agenda. (See enclosed flier.)

You might want to bring candles, utensils, and canned food for ten people or more, as well as a warm coat, clean clothes, blanket and/or sleeping bag for one of the guests.

To volunteer food, labor; clothes, printing, please call 234-2000.

Additionally, on Sunday, January 22, an Interfaith Prayer Circle will gather outside the Washington Cathedral from 9:30 to noon. Some folks will be arriving as early as 7:30 with candles. We hope you will be able to join us.

May this new year, and the four difficult years ahead of us, flow with love.

In peace,

Ellen Thomas
