OFFICE OF THE SOLICITOR

February 23, 1995

Mr. William Thomas
Ms. Ellen Thomas
2817 11th Street, N.W.
Washington, D.C. 20001

Dear Mr. and Ms. Thomas:

This requests that you bring your signs located in Lafayette Park into conformity with National Park Service regulations. Failure to promptly comply with the National Park Service regulations will result in appropriate enforcement action,

As you know, on January 20, 1995, Randolph J. Myers of our office responded to your inquiry on whether your signs in Lafayette Park conform to National Park Service regulations. After reviewing the photographs of the signs taken on January 13, 1995, it was our conclusion that the signs, as currently constructed, do not comply with the regulations.

More than three weeks have now elapsed since Mr. Myers' letter addressed these illegal signs. Notwithstanding the simple steps needed for each of you to come into compliance with Park Service regulations, compliance has still not occurred.

Accordingly, this requests that you promptly bring your signs into conformity with National Park Service regulations. Failure to come into compliance will result in appropriate enforcement action by the United States Park Police.

Sincerely,
Richard Robbins
Assistant Solicitor
National Capital Parks
