Many "old Family" are very caught up in the "process" of deciding where and when particular gatherings will occur. Thomas doesn't personally give a rat's tail about the location or duration of any particular gathering -- he only cares about "the right" to gather -- but it's rumored, the decision to trash the July 1 - 7th tradition was made by principal "old Family" folks behind the Vision Council scene.
