Rudy Stolfer, who is nearing the end of a two-year cross-country trek, was probably in need of some refreshment and rest when he stopped in Grantsville recently. The hiker explained that his mission is to spread awareness that peaceful solutions to conflicts are possible. His destination is Washington, D.C. and he hopes to arrive by Labor Day. Stolfer's visit coincided with the Grantsville Rotary picnic, which he was invited to attend. Stolfer, on the left in the photo, chatted with Rotary president Danny Klotz. "Rudy walked all the way from Oregon to come to our picnic," joked Klotz.
