March for Justice

Don't take the day off on Monday, join the struggle for justice!!
Join Rev. Walter Fauntroy, the Millions for Mumia mobilization
the National People's Campaign and many other organizations
at the White House on Monday, February 15th at 11:00am
to protest this latest outrage by the police. We will march
to the Justice Department and on to the Capitol for a 1:00pm
rally.

New York City police fired 41 bullets at Amadou Diallo, 22 year old immigrant from Guinea, as he was standing unarmed in the vestibule of his building in the Bronx. In a national epidemic, Riverside, CA police recently shot a 19 year old African American women 27 times as she sat in a disable car. This shows the insidious pattern of institutionalized abuse by the police across the country.

The police murder of Mr. Diallo is tied to the April 24 mobilization
in Philadephia to stop the execution of Mumia Abu-Jamal and to
win him a new trial. Mumia has been sitting on death row since
1982 not because he is guilty of killing a police officer.

He is sitting on death row because he tirelessly exposed
police atrocities like the ones just committed in New York City and
Riverside, because he unflinchingly condemned the police for their
barbaric behaviour, because he was the voice of voiceless victims
like Amadou Diallo.

He is sitting on death row because the Philadelphia
Fraternal Order of Police will never forget that Mumia spoke
out courageously against police brutality under the fascistic
regime of Mayor Frank Rizzo.
