THE WORLD MACEDONIAN CONGRESS
Memorandum
We, the Macedonians, are taking this stand
today here before the eyes of the world, in front of the White House, to
express our most profound protest and outrage against the insidious attempts by
the current government of the Republic of Macedonia, and its international
mentors to deface, confuse, humiliate and undermine the distinct Macedonian
ethnic, national, cultural, historical and political identity:
‑ By sponsoring the current, undemocratically
elected former communist regime in the Republic of Macedonia;
‑ By admitting Macedonia into the United
Nations under an unprecedented and ignominious name of F. Y. R. M.;
‑ By luring the communist regime of Macedonia
into relinquishing it's national flag without the democratic consensus of the
Macedonian people;
‑ By sponsoring the signing of the September
13, 1995 agreement between the Republic of Macedonia and Greece, which makes a
mockery of the Macedonian national name, flag and constitution;
‑ By forcing the Macedonians in a most
undemocratic and flagrant way to accept and unspeakable and unbearable national
humiliation and by putting them before an ultimatum:
The current former communist regime of the
Republic of Macedonia and its mentors have violated the basic tenets of the
charter of the United Nations, which provide for the holiest and most noble
rights of every country and its people to choose for themselves who they are,
democratically, what they are, and what they want to be.
We, the
Macedonians, do hereby affirm our indomitable will to defend by all democratic
and civilized means, our God given right to live among the family of nations
with our Macedonian identity, integrity and dignity. To this end we plead to all of the democratic and free world to support
our national cause!
In
the name of the national, democratic and human rights of the Macedonians
