WHAT IS
DEPLETED URANIUM ( DU )
During
the Gulf War, depleted uranium was used in the casing of antitank missiles and
the armor of tanks and other armored ground vehicles. DU is natural uranium which has
been partially separated from its less stable isotope Uranium-235. Uranium‑235 is used in nuclear bombs
and as reactor fuel. Uranium's heavy
weight and high density as well as its property of being oxidized at high
temperatures creating an immense heat makes it a very effective casing for
armor piercing missiles.
Even
though it is called depleted it is still radioactive releasing a high energy alpha particle
the most carcinogenic and lethal form of radiation. When
Uranium starts burning after the missile hits its target Uranium Oxide is released into the air. This
radioactive compound is inhaled and ingested by soldiers and others in the area. It is then trapped in the
body and the pathology that results from the radiation and heavy metal toxicity
contributes to Gulf War Illness.
The Use of Depleted Uranium or Any Radioactive Material is a
Strategy which can only Result in the Poisoning of the Human Race.

THE DECLARATION
WE,THE
CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES. BELIEVE THAT THE VETERANS ADMINISTRATION HAS
ABROGATED ITS LEGISLATED RESPONSIBILITY TO AMERICAN VETERANS AND CITIZENS AT
LARGE BY FAILING TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE MEDICAL CARE TO THE U.S. VETERANS AND
FAILING TO TAKE SERIOUSLY ITS RESPONSIBILITY TO PROVIDE CARE AND ASSISTANCE IN
THE EVENT OF NATIONAL DISASTERS.
THE VETERANS
ADMINISTRATION HAS STEADFASTLY ABDICATED ITS RESPONSIBILITY TO PARTICIPATE IN
PROTECTING THE CITIZENS OF THIS NATlON BY ACTING CONTRARY TO THE PRESIDENTIAL
ORDER WHICH REQUIRES THE PREPAREDNESS OF FEDERAL AGENCIES IN THE EVENT OF
NUCLEAR DISASTER.THIS BLATANT LACK OF CONCERN IS A BETRAYAL OF THE TRUST WHICH
THE CITIZENS OF THIS COUNTRY BESTOW UPON FEDERAL AGENCIES AND OFFICIALS CHARGED
WITH PROTECTION OF THEIR RIGHTS.
THE VETERANS ADMINISTRATION HAS CONSISTENTLY DECLINED TO
ACKNOWLEDGE DIAGNOSE AND TREAT THE GULF WAR VETERANS WHO HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO
RADIOACTIVE CONTAMINATION WITH URANIUM. THIS ABHORRENT BEHAVIOR IS REFLECTIVE
OF A PERVASIVE ATTITUDE AND CONSPIRATORIAL NEGLECT OF THE BASIC RIGHTS OF GULF
WAR VETERANS.
WE BELIEVE THAT PROFESSIONALS WITHIN VETERANS ADMINISTRATION
WHO HAVE THE EXPERTISE IN MEDICAL MANAGEMENT OF RADIATION CASUALTIES HAVE BEEN
SUBJECTED TO SYSTEMATIC DISCRIMINATION AND RETALIATORY ACTS WHEN THEY DARED TO
SPEAK OUT PUBLICLY
ALL CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES SHOULD BE AWARE OF THESE
CONCERNS.
