BE PART OF THE 1997
POOR PEOPLE'S COUNTER INAUGURAL

As President Clinton begins his second administration Poor and Homeless people need to speak out to send the message that they will not lie down and allow themselves to be used as a fulcrum to balance the federal budget.

President Clinton has made it dear that he is unwilling to make the: needs of America's needy and vulnerable a priority. He has signed will cause 1.5 million children to be thrown into poverty and homelessness In December he proposed reductions in, and the eventual elimination of, fuel assistance, and a $1 billion reduction in programs for the homeless.

Join with activists from, California Connecticut Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania Rhode Island Wisconsin and D.C., Jan. 20, as we serve a beef stew dinner to Washington's poor and homeless and join them in speaking out.

Let the President and Congress know that we are not going to make it easy for them to deprive poor and homeless people of the assistance they need for day to day survival!
