Dear Red Moon Song,

Got word that Monkeys might have "camping" difficulties in Nevada. 
Been in touch with my old friend Joe (Rainbow Worker) Vigorito.  If
you don't know Joe you'll probably meet him in Nevada.  Hopefully
we've come up with some information that will prevent the facists
from crating Monkeys for "camping."

As you will see from the articles on the reverse side, we have
similiar difficulties here.  The authoritarians have been giving us
some headaches lately, which, whether those with little reason or
inclination to utilize the First Amendment realize it or not, are
a major pain for everybody.

The Washington Post failed to mention that after the Park Police
arrested several people, purportedly for "camping," they refused to
release signs, literature, and official D.C. Board of Elections
petitions for Proposition One.  The police claimed that they were
holding those items as evidence of "camping."

We argued that nobody in their right mind could construe signs,
literature and petitions as evidence of "camping,"  but by holding
our signs, literature and petitions the police were violating our
First and Fourth Amendment rights.  The government recognizes a
"vigil" as protected under the First Amendment, on the other hand
"camping" is a criminal offense.  Concepcion never "said she lived
in the peace encampment."  Only God knows why the Washington Post
insists on preceiving people who are holding a year-round,
round-the-clock vigil for the purpose of communicating concepts of
broad public concern, as an "campers."  

Coincidently these arrests occured only two days after I questioned
the House Subcommittee on Appropriations for the Interior and
Related Agencies, about whether taxpayers money should be spent on
a regulation to limit people to 3 cubic feet of property in
Lafayette Park and stifle communication.

We're trying to put most of our energy into Proposition One.
Proposition One may be something to think about once the Monkey is
past the 15th.  Perhaps you know, or will meet Red Moon Song before
the summer.  Maybe she will mention Proposition One to you.  Maybe
you can make it to D.C. in August for the 2nd annual Beat Around
the Bush.
