W. Thomas 1440 N Street N.W. Apt. 410 Washington, D.C. 20005 (202) 462-0757 Robert D. Lansbury 5814 Butler Street Pittsburg, Pennsylvania 18201 January 17, 1990 Dear Mr. Lansbury: Received your letter and check. Very disturbing to learn of your arrest. Assuming that the signs for which you were arrested were the same signs with which I have seen you displaying at the White House over the past 7 or so years, it seems to me that you were indeed deprieved of your most fundamental rights. Perhaps the American Civil Liberities Union would be interested in your case. We have been having a few problems in Peace (Lafayette) Park. Perhaps it's all part of Mr. Bush's new world order. On the other hand we have been having a more pleasantly interesting experience with the non-stop peace drums -- which are our idea of the new world order. Looking forward to seeing you this spring. W. Thomas
