Be assured that each of your unanswered letters has brought a painful twinge of conscience, more than once. Perhaps the major recent events in my personal existence have been related to Proposition One. On January 8, 1992 the D.C. Board of Elections approved Proposition One as "proper subject matter for an initiative." Within two weeks the Board will supply us with a camera ready copy of the official D.C. petition. The new amendment replaces "U.S.S.R." with "Confederation of Independent States." We are getting a lot of encouragement these days. About two weeks ago i finished my first video production, and it is having a far more noticable effect than any other communication project I've ever completed. The visual quality of the video may leave something to be desired, but we are working on the theory that substance is more important than form. It is narrated by Ted Taylor, a reformed nuclear phyisist who is now on the Proposition One Board of Advisors, and attempts to link up the moral problems with the economic realities of nuclear weapons production. Gave a copy to a sister who, for some months, had been discussing the idea among her friends. Several days later she excitedly came to Peace Park, saying that she had just finished watching the video, thought it was "great," and wanted to know how she could help distribute it. She wrote a check to duplicate 100 copies. Already it is being shown on public access TV in at least New York, and we have received inquiries as a result of that showing. There appears to be a new sense of cooperation growing in my personal world. It seems as though finding people to work with is becoming easier. But it might only be excessive optimism. Keep working on that Chinese. Take care. In service to a loving Creator,
