THE RIGHT KIND OF HOUSING

Column: LETTERS TO THE WEEKLY
Thursday, September 14, 1989 ; Page M02

Thank you for the good news in "Md. Housing Project Passes Court Test" {Metro, Aug. 28} . It is sad enough that the Pleasant View project, the first subsidized apartment project for low-income, single-parent families undertaken by Montgomery County, was stopped for so long. Harry Maragides, president of the civic association, might have his eyes opened at the Oct. 7 Housing Now! March, which people such as Robert Mitchum, Martin Sheen, Valerie Harper and John Voight have endorsed as a vehicle for people to find out how much cheaper it is for taxpayers to support transitional housing than emergency shelter.
