Thomas P.O. Box 27217 Washington, D.C. 20038 June 13, 1989 Dear Joffre: Thanks for taking the time to write. Perhaps you are unaware of our circumstances. We are a few individuals who sit - pretty much 24-hours a day, every day of the year - on the sidewalk across the street from the White House, except for those times when we're in jail, court, or police custody. We don't pay taxes, we don't vote, personally I am a stateless person, and we try to devote the entirity of our time and energy toward encouraging the public to follow our example, and to substitute communication for competition. As a result we live in abject poverty. Whatever money does come to us goes into printing our own thoughts and opinions for distribution to the public. While your material contains useful information, that we might be able to reproduce and distribute such a large volumn of paper is not even a practical possibility. If you ever get to D.C. it is hoped that you will stop by and visit us. Perhaps we could then begin to explore a basis upon which we might found voluntary co-operation. Thanks for thinking,
