William Thomas P.O. Box 27217 Washington, D.C. 20038 (202) 462-0757 April 11, 1989 Dear Brad: I can't tell you how pleased I was to receive your letter of March 21, 1989. That was the day after my birthday, and it was a very nice present. It is very nice to see that you are thinking. I promised to write to you when we met at Bruce's wedding. I remembered that almost every day. Sorry that it has taken me so long to keep my promise. Am enclosing several different things. 1) A few essays, 2) A little information about Sunrise and the problem of camping. This is just a little information; right now Sunrise has three cases pending in the Court of Appeals. 3) A little information (in the brown colored cover), the complete record is a stack of paper as tall as I am, about our first attempt to find justice in the court system. This case went on for four years with Judge Oberdorfer, in the district court, and is now in the appeals court. Pay special attention to the Magistrate's Opinion, Report & Recommendation (tab "U"). Despite the Magistrate's Recommendation, Judge Oberdorfer dismissed the case "without prejudice" (tab "V" page 716). 4) After Judge Oberdorfer dismissed the first case without prejudice, we filed a second case, Huddle v. Reagan. This case is presently pending. Some of these pages are printed on both sides of the paper, because it is much cheaper for me to print on scrap paper. Please just disregard the second side. Hope that you find this of some interest. I guess it's a bit dry, maybe not very exciting, but I think that it deals with some important concepts. But maybe not. I'd be very interested to know what you think. Hope that you will be able to come up to visit. Give my love to your mom and Kerry. Look forward to hearing from you soon. Love,
