William Thomas 1440 N Street, N.W., Apt. 410 Washington D.C. 20005 Howard G. Kurtz War Control Planners, Inc. Box 19127 Washington D.C. 30036 March 15, 1989 Dear Mr. Kurtz: Picked up a copy of your foresightful "Presidential Address in Search of a President" at the Press Building yesterday. Personally, I'd have preferred the concept that "during these experimental years each nation will be encouraged to seek defense through reason rather than violence," to the words "No nation will be expected to weaken its defense during these experimental years." But that's nit-picking. In my opinion your Address in Search requires no editing whatsoever. So now all we've got to do is find somebody who will deliver it. Enclosing some material on freedom of belief and expression, which might be of interest. Your friend, William Thomas 1440 N Street, N.W., Apt. 410 Washington D.C. 20005 Charles Hyder March 15, 1989 Dear Charles: Got your letter to Ellen. I don't immediately see the material improvement of your latest proposal over your proposal which we have been trying to promote through the petition for constitutional amendments. Haven't run out of patience. Please advise. Enclosing info about S.S. Harmony, which may bear on the fate of the union. Love, William Thomas 1440 N Street, N.W., Apt. 410 Washington D.C. 20005 James McGuinness 2440 16th Street Box 241 San Francisco, California 94103 March 15, 1989 Dear Guin: This is in response to your letter postmarked December 5th. No question about it. You are a better letter writer than I. Including some written matter to address some of your questions about matters legal. Scott is busily building a better union. He spends some of his time watching Ollie's trial, and some of his time at the signs. He's also working with some other folks on Central America, and is planning to go to Nevada in late March. Scott's tearing them up in Court. Just won one without firing a shot. Ellen is wonderful. Ellen and Song did produce what seened a very creditable publication. Unfortunately, Song felt the need to meditate, and had to leave town before publishing more than 100 copies. Fortunately a 100 copies are better than nothing. Fortunately Song has written to us and is doing well in Pennsylvania. He mentions plans to return to D.C., at some point in the future. Mary is working with the Rainbow Family to address new Forest Service regulations which threaten to do to the gathering what "camping" has done to the Park. Philip just got back from Kentucky. He has mentioned some plan to resume feeding the masses. Acie doesn't get by that often lately. He's got a new apartment in Maryland and is working hard. All in all things are good here. Allah wo Akbar, as the ayatollah would say.
