William Thomas 1440 N Street N.W., Apt. 410 Washington, D.C. 20005 December 8, 1988 1031 Garden Drive Villa 7 New Port Richey, Flordia, 34652 Dear Mom: Yup, a lot has happened in the last year. You're back two weeks already. I though you just left. Was surprised that you've returned so quickly. That was entirely Dandi's idea. You met him while you were here. Dandi's no longer in D.C.. He's gone to Vermont to live with a community of religiously minded folks. But he wrote to Kaylene so I'll ask her to note your appreciation when she writes him. I've been very tired lately also, maybe it's something that's going around. Things are going well here. After all these years Judge Oberdorfer finally dismissed the old civil suit, "without prejudice," which means we can file it again. Which we've already done. The new case is in front of Judge Joyce Hens Green. Judge Green presided of seven days of government testimony in a trial of seven of us in 1984. When the governemnt rested its case Judge Green acquitted us with the immortal observation: "to continue any further with this matter would turn prosecution into persecution." Both Ellen and I have always thought of J. Green as being considerably more reasonable than J. Oberdorfer. So far she is doing much, much better than Oberdorfer ever did in moving the case along. We feel that if we can't get a fair shake from this judge, it isn't very likely that we'll ever find a judge who'll give us one. Donn could be doing better, but I don't really have the time to get into it. I think he's got a few problems that he needs to work out. Love to Bruce, the cousins and aunts when you contact them. I really do mean to write to Brad, but I've misplaced his address again. Love,
