CONCERN FOR THE HOMELESS?
Column: LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Saturday, February 7, 1987

The Post editorial staff must have been snowbound to publish such drivel as
"The War Between the Haves and the Have-Nots" by Benjamin J. Stein {op-ed,
Feb. 3} .
If the Honorable Mr. Stein was so concerned about the homeless men he saw
on his drive home from a dinner party on Capitol Hill, he might have made an
effort to take at least one to a shelter or contacted Mitch Snyder.
I wonder whether Hollywood is as "lewdly" lit as the Capitol or as
"garishly" illuminated as the White House|
A final note: since when are the comments of a "highly placed woman" at a
dinner party (with drinks, I'm sure) taken seriously enough to be published?
Please -- no more twaddle. WALTER L. ERHARDT Alexandria
