For an additional thirty days, the National Park Service is extending its public use limitation and will not issue demonstration and special event permits for Lafayette Park and the White House Sidewalk. This public use limitation extension is to ensure necessary security and safety for the adjacent White House complex, its occupants, and the public. Violation is prohibited.

Activities which do not require a permit are not affected. In addition, other Federal Parks, including the nearby Ellipse, National Mall, Washington Monument grounds, Meridian Hill park, McPherson and Farragut Squares, Pershing park and Freedom Plaza, are available for permit and non-permit events.

The National Park Service appreciates the public's understanding, and cooperation, in this matter.
