NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC

Temporary Closure of Lafayette Park

Various sections of Lafayette Park will be closed to the public from November 23, 1992 to January 31, 1993. The closures are necessary for Constructing and dismantling various components for the 1993 Presidential Inauguration to be held on January 20, 1993.

Specifically, the southern section of the park, which is the area marked on the attached map, will be closed from November 23, 1992 through January 31, 1993. Other areas of the park will be closed as construction progresses. Persons demonstrating or otherwise using the southern section of Lafayette Park, including the sidewalk, should remobe themselves and any personal property by 6:30 a.m. on November 23. And once construction progresses to the other sections of Lafayette Park, the sections will be closed and persons demonstrating or otherwise using the sections should remove themselves and anyu personal property.

Those persons wishing to continue their demonstration activity may do so in remaining sections of Lafayette Park, if the sections are not closed, or at all times in the northeast quadrant of the park. The northeast quadrant of Lafayette Park will remain open throughout the Presidential Inauguration construction period.
