NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC
The southern portion of Lafayette Park will be closed to
the public and demonstrators' use for short periods of time during
the Reagan/Gorbachev Summit, December 7 - 10, 1987.
Persons demonstrating or otherwise using the park, in the
portion noted on the attached drawing, should remove themselves
any personal property from that area when notified by the U.S.
Park Police. You may, if you wish, leave your demonstration signs
during the brief closures. However, the National Park Service
cannot accept responsibility for your personal property.
These actions are necessary to provide a secure route of
access for the visiting Head of State.
