NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC

The southern portion of Lafayette Park will be closed to the public and demonstrators' use for short periods of time during the Reagan/Gorbachev Summit, December 7 - 10, 1987.

Persons demonstrating or otherwise using the park, in the portion noted on the attached drawing, should remove themselves any personal property from that area when notified by the U.S. Park Police. You may, if you wish, leave your demonstration signs during the brief closures. However, the National Park Service cannot accept responsibility for your personal property.
