Peace Park 15th Anniversary
Monday, June 3rd, 1996, was the 15th Anniversary
of the antinuclear vigil outside the White House
in Lafayette (Peace) Park.
In contrast, it was also exactly seven years
since the massacre at Tiananmen Square.
In the current climate of fear, we wonder,
can freedom endure?
We celebrated 15 years of tenacity
Sunday, June 2 with the message:
DRUM FOR DISARMAMENT
DRUM FOR FREEDOM FROM FEAR
HELP SEE OUT THE 15TH YEAR,
and let Willie know it's important the park remain
the world's symbol of freedom and democracy!
Potluck at 7:00; bring drums, friends,
stories and photos of YOUR memories of Peace Park!
