Culminating the nationwide petition drive initiated by the Great Plains Restoration Council demanding permanent Wilderness protection for the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska, we present our petitions to President Clinton as we mark the seven year anniversary of the Exxon Valdez oil spill catastrophe.

The demonstration will be an opportunity for the public to show Congress that Alaska's pristine Arctic Refuge and its 20,000 year old native Gwich'in culture should be left alone to carry on for future generations.
