BILL IN HOUSE ASKS BAN ON WHITE HOUSE PICKETING

Picketing in the immediate vicinity of the White House would be prohibited under a bill introduced in the House yesterday by Representative Gentry, Democrat, of Texas.

The measure specifies all the sidewalks around the Executive Mansion where picketing would be a violation. Penalties of a $100 fine or imprisonment for not more than 60 days or both would be provided.

The bill went to the House District Committee for consideration.
