THE PEOPLES NATIONAL SOLIDARITY PLEDGE

An Individual Agreement to Call for a National Solidarity Movement

PREAMBLE

When in the course of our country's economic, social, and political governing, an oppressive alliance of political power and corporate greed causes the real needs, desires, and welfare of the people to be continually disregarded, it is the duty of the people to transform that political system and establish a community of justice, equality, and true democracy; and When most people visibly express their rejection of the entrenched two-party electoral process, it is time to create a responsive, movement-based, confederation of grassroots organizations and Spiritual Solidarity Movement in their place.

PLEDGE

Because that time is now, I willingly pledge to be counted among those that call for the establishing of a National Solidarity Movement Moreover, I pledge my support for its goals and objectives, including deep cuts from the military budget and reallocation of funds for domestic needs; global nuclear disarmament; universal health care; women's economic and reproductive rights; support and protection of children; massive community-sponsored-job creation, teen and community enrichment programs, both public and private; the inalienable right of workers to organize and strike; an ecologically- sustainable economy using every safe alternative for energy in production methods including, solar, wind, biomass; decriminalization of hemp for medical, industrial, and recreational use; and full recognition at every level of society that only with total equality and participation of ALL people, regardless of race, age, gender, ethnic background, physical ability or sexual and spiritual orientation, can we realize the true promise of a proud and free people.

Furthermore, when One-Million pledges have been collected --constituting a meaningful constituent base-- and at an appropriate-determined time, I pledge my support, through registration for the creation of a new national Solidarity Movement And Confederation Of Community-Based Movements, aimed at fundamental and genuine social, political, and structural change.
