THE CALL FOR DIVESTMENT IS HERE ! ! !

A coalition of public employee labor unions are calling on James Mosman, CEO of the State Teachers' Retirement System (STRS) to sell its 71,400 shares of Maxxam stock. Calls are needed to affirm this position! Additional Reasons to Divest:

Over the past 18 months, Pacific Lumber has filed requests with the California Department of Forestry to log nearly 2,800 acres of old growth trees in residual areas.

A former Pacific Lumber Co. tree faller recently filed suit for wrongful termination due to his complaints about unsafe working conditions.

In that suit, it stated that workers were intentionally directed to log old-growth trees without proper permits.

PLEASE CALL (preferably by July 8 but OK if after):

Tell Mr. Mosman and Superintendent Eastin to follow STRS' external financial analysis that gave a "STRONG SELL" recommendation to get rid of their Maxxam stock! STRS is influenced by pressure from their membership -several years back they sold a stock because of teacher/public outcry!
