NUCLEAR WASTE CITIZEN'S COALITION

In the light of nuclear industry proposals pending in Congress that would mobilize 95% of all the radioactivity that humans have made in the last 50 years (irradiated fuel from commercial power reactors) on the roads & rails on a tight schedule headed for a site in Nevada that even DOE says has only a 50% chance of ever being licensed as a permanent site...

INVITES YOU TO
CITIZEN'S LOBBY DAYS SPRING 1996
ON RADIOACTIVE WASTE POLICY
U.S. CONGRESS, WASHINGTON D.C.
BRING YOUR FRIENDS, YOUR TEENAGE CHILDREN, YOUR LOCAL OFFICIALS

Two opportunities, both Sunday through Wednesday:
MARCH 10-13 and APRIL 14-17**

Both rounds start with a gathering and orientation on Sunday. We hope you will join us for this briefing and then stay one or more days into the week to "hit the hill" to express and impress members of Congress with your response to high-level nuclear waste issues. This is a time to call for a complete policy review rather than further Band-Aids that only serve the nuclear utilities while taking us farther from any true resolution of the waste problem. These are issues for both tax- and rate-payors. Selected appointments will be made with key Administration offices as well.

There will be opportunities to bring up issues specific to your community/state in meetings with your congressional delegation.

** April dates are in conjunction with the Military Production Network's (MPN) celebrated DC Week Lobby Days, which brings a diverse community of folks affected by the DOE weapons complex together to lobby on a wide range of issues. This year's effort will include a focus on civilian high-level waste (irradiated fuel)
