Disarmament Conference at the UN

April 24-26, 1996

The NGO Committee on Disarmament will feature Joseph Rotblat, recipient of the 1995 Nobel Peace Prize, on Thursday, April 25, in the United Nations. We will be holding panel discussions on the Comprehensive Test Ban negotiations, nuclear weapons, conventional weapons, and the UN role in disarmament and international security. (Disregard the April 9-10 date referred to elsewhere.)

Those of you who are already members of the NGO Committee on Disarmament will soon receive the edited transcripts of the panel discussions held in Oct./Nov., 1995. They are in photocopy form since the UN is unable to publish the transcript this year.

As you are probably well aware, the UN is facing severe financial difficulties. It means the NGO Committee on Disarmament, although we live hand to mouth ourselves, must carry a much greater share of the costs of holding forums at the UN and publishing the transcripts. We will very much appreciate it if you become a member/subscriber or renew your membership/subscription.
